Folk impurists with a smart, distinct voice and a kitchen sink repertoire of influences ranging from jug band and jazz to roots rock.
"The Buskers tap into the street music tradition for which they are named, then go much farther with serious musicianship, a sense of humor, and energy to burn.” (Weirs Times)
Their sound is defined by a deep respect for the craft of songwriting and arranging, and a shared love for the inventive possibilities of improvisation.
The Buskers are actually returning to their roots by performing at The Back Room! They formed after playing at an open mic night in 1993 right next door to The Back Room, and they have since produced recordings and toured throughout the northeast.
With Kathy (KayZee) Sommer on fiddle and mandolin, Craig Jaster on piano, bass and accordion, and Paul Hubert on guitar, the trio produces a variety of original music, with strong vocal harmonies and a well-seasoned and engaging stage presence.
