ABOUT ABOUT

Steinbeck novels, Renaissance choral music, 30’s swing, Neruda poems, Erik Satie, and the night sky all come together to make Maine-born New York-relocated musician Alice Limoges someone that the Bangor Daily News has called “a singer-songwriter with loads of potential and nowhere to go but up”.

A lover of the stage from a young age, it was a small step for her to begin performing her folk/jazz influenced compositions at local coffeehouses, restaurants, and art museums during her high school years. Limoges graduated high school a year early to pursue musical studies at the University of Maine Augusta and has carried on to study Studio Composition at SUNY Purchase’s Conservatory of Music.

Limoges has since performed performed extensively in NYC and New England, including festivals (Befast Free Range Festival), colleges (Columbia University, Hamilton College, SUNY New Paltz, SUNY Purchase), and many other venues including Rockwood Music Hall (NYC), PIANOS (NYC), The Bowery Electric (NYC), Club Passim (Boston), and Cafe Nine (New Haven).  During the summer of 2014, her five piece band completed a Northeastern tour.

Trained on guitar in jazz and various fingerpicking styles since a young age, Limoges continuously revamps her sound. Whether performing solo, with a full band, with the 7 piece orchestra featured on her upcoming album, or with emotive jazz players, always expect to hear something new from Limoges. Even her most simple shows are tied together by her rich voice and leave the audience with a newfound sense of intimacy.

Her most recent release. 2014’s “Live in NYC” can be found on her Bandcamp. “Not Gonna Fall Asleep Tonight” can be found on iTunes, Bandcamp, and Amazon. She is presently working her second album, “As Close As You Can Be Without Touching” to be released Spring 2015
