Slam Free or Die on The Road Poetry Performance

BRISTOL, NH – On Tuesday, May 26, 2015, Slam Free or Die continues its popular Roadshow open mic poetry series and kicks off a new event at The Back Room at the Mill! This new event will be the last Tuesday of every month, now through September and will have an open mic, featured poets and we hope to eventually host poetry slam competitions (competitors will receive free gourmet fudge!). This month's feature is Hanif Willis-Abdurraqib!

The event will be held at The Back Room at the Mill (at The Mill Fudge Factory) 2 Central Street in Bristol, NH. Doors open and sign-ups begin at 7pm and the open mic will begin at 8pm with the feature immediately following the open mic. There is a $3 cover.

About THE FEATURE
Hanif Willis-Abdurraqib is a poet, writer, and dessert enthusiast from Columbus, Ohio. He is the editor of Again I Wait For This To Pull Apart, an anthology forthcoming from Freezeray Press. His work has been published in Radius, Stirring, Muzzle, Vinyl, joINT, Borderline, and various other journals. He has been nominated for the pushcart prize, and his poem "Hestia" won the 2014 Capital University poetry prize. His first collection of poems, The Crown Ain't Worth Much, will be released by Button Poetry in 2015. He wants to talk to you about the Cincinnati Bengals and your top 5 albums.
